Hestia Crest
Home / About

Housing is health. We are here to prove it, one home at a time.

Hestia Crest is named for Hestia, keeper of the hearth, and for the crest of a hill: the moment someone stops climbing and can see where they are going.

Mission & vision

Our purpose.

Our mission

To help every neighbor in need find a safe, stable home and the support to keep it, with respect, patience and a real person by their side.

Our vision

A California where everyone has a place to call home and the care they need to thrive, and no one has to face it alone. We will grow one community at a time, and we will always put the people we serve first.

Our story

Why Hestia Crest.

Losing a home, or never having a stable one, makes every other part of life harder, including your health. California now covers housing support for many Medi-Cal members, and people deserve someone who will pick up the phone and stay with them well past move-in day.

We built Hestia Crest to be that someone: small enough to know every member by name, organized enough to do the work right, and led by people who understand it firsthand.

What the name means

In Greek tradition Hestia tends the hearth, the warm center of every home. A crest is the high point of a climb. The pinwheel in our logo turns on three colors: berry for Housing, teal for Health, gold for Hope.

Core values

How we work.

Dignity first

Every person is treated as the expert in their own life. We offer choices, not orders.

Trauma-informed

We move at the person’s pace, explain what happens next, and avoid retelling painful stories.

Lived experience

We value people who have been through the system and know its barriers firsthand.

Follow-through

We do what we say, document it, and close the loop with members and partners.

Equity

We serve every age, background, language and identity, and we remove barriers to access.

Rising together

Members, staff and partners succeed together. Our team’s wellbeing is part of the mission.

Leadership

The people behind the work.

Growing a team that reflects the community

We hire care managers who are ready to do hands-on work, and we back them with supervision, manageable caseloads and real training. As we grow, we plan to add supervisors, a compliance lead and a housing specialist.
